| The Model 4 came in three variations: The Non-Gate Array (Catalogue 26-1069) had a Black and White picture tube, non-clustered arrow keys, non-integrated RS232 and disk controllers. The RS-232 port faces the bottom of the unit. The Gate Array (Catalogue 26-1069A) had a Green picture tube, clustered arrow keys, integrated RS-232 and disk controllers. The RS-232 port faces the back of the unit. The Model 4-P was a 'portable' (luggable) Model 4 but had no Model III ROMS. You would know one if you saw one. Ed Bailey informs me that in Canada the original Model 4 was sold with a green screen only - you can find converted Mod 3's with Black and white. |
