I do not remember where I found this distribution of WordStar version 4. It differs from the version at http://www.retroarchive.org/cpm/text/text.htm in that it seems to be the complete package with the spelling and mail-merge components. All I did was patch it so that it would work with yaze-ag. I had previously patched the Kaypro WordStar 3.3 distribution and although it worked well enough, the patching process was messy and it may have been some- what difficult to apply further patches. Configuring WordStar 4 is so much easier and does not involve writing special handlers. In particular, WS4 handles ANSI screen controls as a standard configuration option. As presented here, WordStar is set for an ANSI display, 25 lines of 80 char- acters. If you name a file on the command line, e.g. ws ws4yaze.txt then that file is opened in NON-DOCUMENT mode. This is very useful when you are using WordStar as a general text editor. It does mean that when using the program as a word processor then you have to select the document from a menu. If you don't like this then it is easy to change - just run WSCHANGE! Jon Saxton Tesseract RCPM+ (defunct) tesseract@triton.vg
