There are two known varieties of this coin which differ in the orientation of the 6 in the date but the difference is extremely subtle and not at all obvious without careful examination.

Reverse of 1916 shilling

	S16M.2A.1 Normal date with 16 sloping slightly to the left.
	S16M.2A.2 Upright 16 in date.

The following enlargements show the differences fairly clearly but an isolated coin may be difficult to classify.
