Mouse
The mouse port is for a quadrature mouse, like the one used on Amstrad's early PCs. However, the pinout is different. This table lists the pins, including pin numbers for a lead that can be used to connect a PC1512 mouse to the PC1.
Pin number | Meaning | Amstrad mouse pin number |
---|---|---|
1 | Right button | 9 |
2 | Left button | 6 |
3 | XA | 1 |
4 | YB | 4 |
5 | +5v | 7 |
6 | YA | 3 |
7 | XB | 7 |
8 | Ground | 8 |
9 | ENA | 8 |
If ENA is not pulled low, the PC1 assumes a joystick is connected to the mouse port. It's possible that a standard Atari pinout is used in this case.
