Emulating an Amstrad XT
The only emulator I'm aware of which supports Amstrad XTs is MESS, which can simulate the PC1512, the PC1640, and the PC20/PC200. The CVS source as of 29 July has these problems / limitations:
- PC1512: The mapping of video RAM into address space is correct in text mode, but differs from a real PC1512 in graphics modes. This can only be seen if the system is switched from graphics to text mode without clearing the screen - something which never happens in normal operation.
- PC200: The floppy changeline is always zero.
- PC200: In MDA mode, the screen attributes don't behave quite like they do on a real PC200.
- PC200: The video adaptor NMI is not emulated.
